Luke and Aaron are joined by special guest Derek Ferris as they discuss two Batman Elseworlds books, Gotham by Gaslight, by Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola ( with inks by P. Craid Russel and colors by David Hornung) and Gotham Noir, by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips (with colors by Dave Stewart). In this episode, the three of them discuss how the Batman mythos adjusts to different settings and storytelling tropes. In Gotham by Gaslight, Batman is pitted against Jack the Ripper in a Gothic Victorian era Gotham city. In Gotham Noir, Private Detective Jim Gordan tries to solve the murder of a young girl while crossing paths with the urban legend known as The Batman. Published by DC Comics in 1989 and 2001 respectively.
